NOTICE OF PUBLIC AND QUASI-JUDICIAL HEARINGS NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS October 6, 2025   The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners will hold public hearings on Monday, October 6, 2025, beginning at 4:00 p.m. or thereafter at the New Hanover County Historic Courthouse, 24 North Third Street (corner of Third and Princess Street), Room 301, in Wilmington, NC to consider the following:   PUBLIC COMMENT: For the upcoming Board of Commissioners meeting, individuals can submit public comments for public hearing items in advance to https://www.nhcgov.com/1105/Public-Comment-Form by Monday, October 6, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. While comments may be provided, only sworn testimony provided during the quasi-judicial hearing may be considered by the board in their deliberations. Written comments will be provided to the board, and the board chair will acknowledge receipt during the public hearing or submit comments into the record during the public hearing.   PUBLIC HEARING: Text Amendment Request (TA25-04 – Sign Standards Maintenance Amendment) – Request by New Hanover County to amend Articles 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11, and 12 of the Unified Development Ordinance to modernize and clarify sign standards and ensure provisions are compliant with legal requirements.   QUASI-JUDICIAL HEARING: Special Use Permit Request – (S25-04 – Tarin Woods Additional Dwelling Allowance) – Request by James Yopp with Hoosier Daddy, LLC, applicant and property owner, for an Additional Dwelling Allowance for additional density up to 6.54 dwelling units per acre in a R-15, Residential district on approximately 43.10 acres located at 5669, 5671, 5713, 5831 Carolina Beach Road and 1046, 1051, 1052, 1055 Rosa Parks Lane.   The Board of Commissioners may consider substantial changes to petitions as a result of testimony at the meeting.
