Public Notice Bid # 3488 The Rapides Parish Police Jury is receiving proposals to provide Lawn Service for the following departments located in Alexandria LA 71303 Rapides Parish Health Unit – 5604 Coliseum Blvd Suite A Rapides Parish Sales & Use Tax Office-5606 Coliseum Blvd Rapides Parish Office of Motor Vehicles – 5602 Coliseum Blvd Suite B Rapides Parish Office of Economic and Workforce Development–5610 Coliseum Blvd Ste B Laborde Earles Coliseum -5600 Coliseum Blvd Sealed bids will be received by the Purchasing Department of the Rapides Parish Police Jury on December 2, 2025, located at 701 Murray Street, Suite 201, Alexandria, LA 71301, at 10:00 AM. Any questions can be directed to Debra Wess (318) 473-6633 or dwess@rppj.com Mowing, Trimming, Blowing Sales & Use Tax Office -During the growing season (spring & summer) needs to be mowed weekly. 1. Turf areas that are accessible need to be mowed on an agreed upon schedule during the growing season (biweekly) 2. The areas that will need to be maintained from front to back will start at the edge of Highway 28W and continue around various buildings to front side of the ditch that runs along the back of the property. The area from side to side will be from property border to the drainage canal. 3. Turf areas that are inaccessible to mowers need to be trimmed to height consistent with the mowed area. 4. Weather conditions may cause deviation from the mowing schedule Hard Edging 1. The edging of all walkways and curb areas need to be done each visit. 2. Edge barriers need to be installed and maintained in plant beds 3. Plant beds need to be mulched annually or as needed. Bed Edging 1. The edging of all plant beds (trees, bushes etc.) needs to be performed every other mowing visit or more frequently if needed. Planter Maintenance 1. Hearty Plants need to be planted in planter in front of buildings if existing planters are in place and must be maintained accordingly. Plant Bed Weeding 1. Mechanical and chemical methods should be used to control weeds in sidewalks, parking lots, plant beds (with department approval), drainage ditches and canals. Pruning and or Shearing of Shrubbery 1. All shrubs/trees etc. should be sheared of current year’s growth and maintain current shape 2. Islands in parking lots need to be weeded or mulched on a regular basis Debris/Trash 1. All debris and trash (including visible in the flower beds) should be removed and placed in proper disposal containers. 2. All debris created from mowing should be blown from walks, parking lots and paved areas. Rapides Parish Police Jury is an equal opportunity employer.
