NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Supervisors of Middletown Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Township Building, located at 3 Municipal Way, Langhorne, Pennsylvania 19047. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive comment and public testimony regarding the following proposed Resolution:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OR THE TOWNSHIP OF MIDDLETOWN, BUCKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 448, “TAXATION,” ARTICLE VI, “EARNED INCOME TAX,” TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT COLLECTED BY THE EARNED INCOME TAX.
In summary, the proposed Resolution seeks to confirm that Earned Income Tax, set by ordinance to a rate of one percent (1.0%) but previously levied and collected at a rate of one-half percent (0.5%), will be levied and collected at a rate of one percent (1.0%), beginning January 1, 2026. The amount of Earned Income Tax levied from this increase would generate $6 million in revenue in calendar year 2026, which could be used to provide for essential local government services including but not limited to police, fire, and emergency medical services.
During the public meeting after the hearing, the Board may consider enactment of the proposed resolution. A copy of the proposed resolution may be reviewed at the Township Building, located at 3 Municipal Way, Langhorne, Pennsylvania 19047 during normal business hours; a copy may be obtained for a charge not greater than the cost thereof. In addition, a copy has also been provided to the newspaper in which this notice is advertised, and to the Bucks County Law Library.
