Letters of Office were issued on the 14th day of November, 2025 to Melissa Ann Adams, 1298 137th St., Aledo, Illinois 61231 as Independent Executrix and whose attorney is listed below. Notice is given to James E. Mikel that an order was entered by the Court on the 14th day of November, 2025 admitting the Will to probate. Within 42 days after the effective date of the original Order of Admission you may file a petition with the Court to require proof of the Will by testimony of the witnesses to the Will in open court or other evidence, as provided in Section 5/6-21 of the Probate Act (755 ILCS 5/6-21). You also have the right under Section 8-1 of the Probate Act (755 ILCS 5/8-1) to contest the validity of the Will by filing a petition with the Court within 6 months after admission of the Will to probate. Claims against the estate may be filed in the Office of the Clerk of the Court, Probate Division, Mercer County Courthouse, 100 SE 3rd St., Aledo, Illinois 61231 or with the representative, or both, within 6 months from the date of issuance of Letters and any claim not filed on or before the 26th day of May, 2026 is barred. Copies of a claim filed with the Clerk must be mailed or delivered to the representative and to the attorney within 10 days after it has been filed.
