NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
DEVELOPMENT REVIEW REGULATIONS AMENDMENT
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws 45-23-53 that a Public Hearing will be held by the Providence City Plan Commission on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 4:45 P.M. in the 1st floor meeting room of the Joseph Doorley Municipal Building at 444 Westminster Street, Providence, Rhode Island, relative to the amendment of the Commission’s Land Development and Subdivision Review Regulations.
The amendment is intended to make the regulations conform to changes to state law pertaining to zoning, subdivision, and development review. The amendment includes changes to the definition, scope and submission requirements for subdivisions, land development projects and projects subject to development plan review. Changes to findings for certification of completeness and clarification of application of unified development review for development plan review projects are also included. New project submission checklists have been developed to reflect the above changes.
The proposed regulations may be altered or amended prior to the close of the public hearing without further advertising, as a result of further study or because of the views expressed at the public hearing. Any alteration or amendment must be presented for comment in the course of the hearing. Individuals requesting interpreter services must contact the Department of Planning and Development (DPD) no less than 48 hours in advance of the hearing date.

All persons or agencies interested in the above-listed hearing will have an opportunity to be heard and/or to submit communication in writing prior to the hearing. Written comments may also be delivered to the DPD offices, 444 Westminster Street, Providence, Rhode Island, 02903, between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. on regular business days.
