JACKSON TOWNSHIP
ORDINANCE NO. 6-2025
PUBLIC HEARING
You are hereby notified that the Jackson Township Board of Supervisors shall convene a public hearing in the Jackson Township Building relative to Ordinance No. 6-2025 on January 5, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. immediately following the Reorganizational Meeting of the Board of Supervisors. The purpose of this public hearing shall be to receive public comments regarding Ordinance No. 6-2025. This Ordinance is an ordinance of the Township of Jackson, Lebanon County amending the Township's Zoning Ordinance to provide for a use permitted by special exception allowing data centers in the Industrial Zone of the Township and providing specific criteria for the grant of such use and its accessory uses which are related to data centers. Immediately after the public hearing, the Township shall convene its regular Township Meeting at which time the Township shall consider for adoption and enactment Ordinance No. 6-2025. This Ordinance may be summarized as follows:
In Section 1 of the Ordinance, the Jackson Township Codified Ordinance at Chapter 27, Part 1, Section 27-101 shall be amended to include new definitions for data centers and data center accessory uses. Section 2 of the Ordinance provides that the Codified Ordinance of the Township shall be amended at Chapter 27, Part 10, Section 27-1002(7) to allow data centers and data center accessory uses as special exceptions in the Industrial District of the Township subject to Section 27-1429 of the Codified Ordinance. Section 3 provides that Section 27-1429 of the Codified Ordinance shall provide specific criteria for data centers and data center accessory uses regulating dimensional standards, landscape buffers, screening and fencing, noise and vibration, water and sewer, power supply, emergency management, aesthetics, parking and traffic studies. Section 4 of the Ordinance provides that the provisions of the Ordinance shall be severable. Section 5 provides that all ordinances or parts of ordinances conflicting with this Ordinance shall be deemed repealed. Section 6 provides that the Township's Codified Ordinance shall include these amendments and Section 7 provides that the Ordinance shall become effective immediately as permitted by law.
