Latino Family Connection, Inc. hereby gives notice of its intent to apply for funding through the Federal Transit Administration's Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program, administered by the New York State Department of Transportation. The funding will be used for the purchase of two (2) 14-passenger accessible vehicles to provide non-emergency transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities within an 8-mile radius of zip code 10927 (Haverstraw, Rockland County). The total project cost is approximately $217,000, of which 80% will be funded by the FTA ($173,600), with a 20% local match ($43,400) provided by community sources. This project is being planned in coordination with local human service agencies and will not duplicate existing transportation services in the region.
