BID SOLICITATION   Sealed proposals will be received by the Somerset Township Board of Supervisors, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, at the Municipal Building, 2209 North Center Ave., Somerset, PA 15501, until 2:00 p.m. on April 8, 2026. Bids will be awarded on April 9, 2026 at 6:30pm for the following:   STONE 1. 1,500 tons PA Spec. # 8 (washed) 2. 2,500 tons PA Spec. #8 (washed), Type L STONE ONLY 3. 200 tons PA Spec. #1 4. 1,500 tons PA Spec. #2A 5. 100 tons PA Spec. #57 6. 3,000 tons PA Spec. #AS-3 or Type-2 Anti-skid 7. 1,500 tons PA Spec. 6” Surge Blend with 2RC 8. 200 tons R4 9. 100 tons R-5   All quantities are approximate. All products shall be PennDOT approved Type “A” material and shall be from Type “A” sources unless otherwise specified above. The Somerset Township Board of Supervisors, at its sole discretion, may require that samples of the above product be submitted to a laboratory analysis of the Township’s choice to determine compliance with material specifications. Any and all such testing, should it be required, shall be at the sole expense of the bidder.   IN-PLACE Approximately 255,448 sq. yds. of single Asphalt Seal Coat In-Place (CRS-2P). All roads shall be done in a single pass. Details of this project are more fully set forth in the bid documents.   Contractor shall furnish all labor and equipment conforming to the regulations and specifications as set forth in PennDOT Publication No. 408.   All aggregates will be hauled from stockpile locations by bidder. Somerset Township shall haul from source to stockpile locations. Aggregates will be supplied by Somerset Township.   All work is to be completed on or before July 31, 2026. Liquidated damages will apply at the rate of $870.00 per calendar day.   ASPHALT 1. 500 tons 9.5 mm Wearing Course—F.O.B plant and delivered 2. 250 tons 19.0 mm Wearing Course--F.O.B plant and delivered 3. 250 tons 25.0 mm Base Course-- F.O.B plant and delivered 4. Approx. 7,500 gals. MC-70 Liquid Asphalt   All prices for asphalt shall be for material delivered and applied at the sites determined by Somerset Township. All prices for wearing course, binder course and base material shall be bid both F.O.B. plant and delivered.   Terms and conditions are fully set forth in the bid specifications. All Proposals shall be on the forms provided by the Township and shall be accompanied with either a certified check in the amount of $100.00 or a bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid amount and made payable to the Township of Somerset.
