Take notice that pleadings seeking relief against you have been filed in the above-entitled civil action. The nature of the relief being sought is as follows the condemnation and appropriation, for highway purposes, of a certain interests or estates in that certain parcel of land lying and being in No. 2 Township, Madison County, North Carolina, and being more particularly described as follows:
Being that vacant land containing approximately 0.232 acre consisting of a portion of the shoulder of NC Highway 208 as well as a portion of the creek bank of Shelton Laurel Creek and said land is located along the south and west sides of NC Highway 208 and at the intersection of NC Highway 208 and NC Highway 212 and across NC Highway 208 from property having an address of 3500 NC Highway 208. The plaintiff is informed and believes, and so alleges upon information and belief, that ownership of the subject property is not known and cannot be ascertained in the Madison County Register of Deeds Office as no deed can be found describing the subject property.
Reference is made to General Warranty Deed dated April 27, 2009 from Beulah C. Vashon and spouse, Earl Vashon a/k/a Larry E. Vason (Grantors) to Leroy E. Vashon and Beulah C. Vashon, Trustees, or their successors in Trust, under the Leroy E. Vashon and Beulah C. Vashon Living Trust dated February 1, 1993, and any amendments attached thereto (Grantees), which was recorded May 8, 2009 in Book 480, Page 535, Madison County Registry. The plaintiff is informed and believes, and so alleges upon information and belief, that the subject property does not appear on the Madison County GIS and no tax parcel identification number (PIN) or parcel ID or REID number has been assigned to said land nor is it shown in the records of the Madison County Tax Office.
You are hereby required to make defense to such pleadings not later than the 2nd day of June 2027, and upon your failure to do so, the party seeking service against you will apply to the Court for the relief sought.
