Joint Base Cape Cod Cleanup Team (JBCCCT) to meet online 6–8:15 p.m., May 27, 2026 Public hearing and comment period to be held The Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) and the Impact Area Groundwater Study Program (IAGWSP) at Joint Base Cape Cod (JBCC) will host an online public meeting of the JBCCCT on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, 6–8:15 p.m. Representatives from the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection will attend. The agenda items are Community Involvement Follow-Up, IAGWSP Look-Ahead, Milestones for AFCEC and the IAGWSP, Presentation and Public Hearing for the Explanation of Significant Differences (ESD) for Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) at Fire Training Area-1 (FTA-1), and an update on results for the FTA-1 Soils Smoldering Test. The ESD outlines AFCEC's plans to address groundwater containing PFAS near Ashumet Pond and in the Ashumet Valley area of Falmouth.
