RESOLUTION 25-005
WHEREAS, the City of Monmouth owns the following described real estate:
Lot Eight (8) in Block Forty-five (45) of the Old Town Plat of the City of Monmouth, in the County of Warren and State of Illinois – a metes and bounds legal description to be provided – commonly known as the old fire station/public safety building
PIN: Part of 09-205-505-01
which property is generally located at 600 South Main Street, Monmouth, Illinois
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Monmouth has determined that it is no longer necessary, appropriate or in the best interest of the City of Monmouth that it retain title to said real estate, and that said real estate is not required for the use of, or profitable to, the municipality; and
WHEREAS, the sale of surplus real estate is authorized by 65 ILCS 5/11-76-4.1.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Monmouth, Warren County, Illinois, as follows:
The City Council finds as facts the recitals hereinabove set forth.
The City Council hereby authorize the sale of the following described real estate:
Lot Eight (8) in Block Forty-five (45) of the Old Town Plat of the City of Monmouth, in the County of Warren and State of Illinois – a metes and bounds legal description to be provided – commonly known as the old fire station/public safety building
PIN: Part of 09-205-505-01
The value of the real estate shall be determined by a written MIA-certified appraisal or by a written certified appraisal of a state-certified or licensed real estate appraiser.
This resolution shall be published following its passage in a newspaper published in the municipality.
The real estate to be sold consists of approximately one lot 66 feet by 132 feet in dimensions, of land improved with a the old fire station/public safety building.
The City Administrator is authorized to conduct the sale of the above described real estate, individually, collectively or any combination thereof, with a copy of the purchase agreement(s) available for inspection at City Hall.
Any proposed purchases shall be accepted by a vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the City Council, but in no event at a price less than eighty (80%) percent of the appraised value.
