The meeting was called to order by President Schneider at 7:40 p.m.
Public notice of the meeting was given in accordance with Wisconsin's Open Meetings Law contained in the Wisconsin Statutes, Subchapter V of Chapter 19.

Motion by Van Aacken, seconded by Lodzinski, resolved to approve the July 21, 2025, Regular Meeting minutes, the July 21, 2025, Closed Meeting minutes, the August 4, 2025, Special Meeting minutes, and the August 12, 2025, Board Study Session minutes, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
There were no citizens interested in addressing the Board of Education.
Motion by Streblow, seconded by Ziemer, resolved to approve the agenda, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
The Wisconsin School Board Association will be hosting the Region 15 Meeting on October 2, 2025.
New Teacher Orientation will take place on August 20 and 21, 2025.
Returning and new staff will participate in teacher workdays and in-service activities on August 25-29. The Welcome Back Program is scheduled for August 26.
The new school year begins on September 2 for Hamilton High School and Templeton Middle School. First day of school for grades 1st-6th grade is September 4 and 5K staggered start is September 4 & 5, with all 5K beginning on September 8. The first day for Willow Springs Learning Center is on September 8.

Motion by Ziemer, seconded by Lodzinski, resolved to approve increasing the staffing for the English Learner program by a 0.50 FTE to address the projected enrollment needs for the 2025-26 school year, as presented. Voice vote. Yes: 4, No: 2 (Lodzinski and Ziemer) Motion carried.
Motion by Ziemer, seconded by Lodzinski, resolved to approve the additional special education staff for the 2025-26 school year, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Motion by Ziemer, seconded by Lodzinski, resolved to approve the Employee Absence Report for 2024-25 School Year, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Motion by Streblow, seconded by Van Aacken, resolved to approve the bill payments, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Motion by Streblow, seconded by Ziemer, resolved to approve the agreement between the Hamilton School District and the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Motion by Van Aacken, seconded by Streblow, resolved to approve the new curriculum documents for Academic and Career Planning Grades 9-12, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Motion by Ziemer, seconded by Van Aacken, resolved to approve the new curriculum documents for Social Emotional Wellness Grades 9-12, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Motion by Van Aacken, seconded by Streblow, resolved to approve the course modifications and additions for Hamilton High School Communication Arts 9 Honors, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Ms. Drago presented an update to the Board regarding the district testing schedule. This was an information item, and no action was necessary.
Motion by Streblow, seconded by Ziemer, resolved to approve the contract for school resource officer services between Waukesha County and Hamilton School District (4-year agreement), as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Motion by Streblow, seconded by Castillo, resolved to approve the Artificial Intelligence Guiding Documents, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Motion by Streblow, seconded by Ziemer, resolved to approve the Behavioral Consequences Progressive Discipline Guide, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
The following board policies were brought for first reading and no action was necessary: 443.9, Academic Honesty; 443.91, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use – Students; 522.8, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use – Staff; 532, Professional Staff Contracts.
Motion by Ziemer, seconded by Van Aacken, resolved to approve the reviewed and revised board policies: 225, Superintendent Evaluation; 347-Exhibit (2), Transfer of Pupil Records; 352-Rule, Field Trip Procedures; 352.1-Rule Guidelines for School-Sponsored Extended Trips; 352.1-Exhibit (1), Hamilton School District Extended/Overnight Field Trip Application (Including Foreign or Specialty Trips, Activities/Athletics) Description of the Trip Form; 352.1-Exhibit (2), Hamilton School District Extended Field Trip Application and Release Form (For Foreign or Specialty Trips i.e., Ski Trips, Rock Climbing, etc.) Description of the Trip Form, as presented.
