PUBLIC NOTICE JACKSON TOWNSHIP ORDINANCE NO. 5-2025 You are hereby notified that the Jackson Township Board of Supervisors on October 6, 2025 at 7:30 PM in the Jackson Township building located at 60 North Ramona Road, Myerstown, Pennsylvania, shall consider for adoption and enactment Ordinance No. 5-2025. This is an ordinance of the Township of Jackson which, if adopted, would impose a weight restriction for any and all vehicles using the bridge over the Tulpehocken Creek on South Ramona Road between State Route 422 and the Township road known as King Street which would be in the maximum amount of 10 tons, providing for the placement of appropriate signs indicating such restriction and a provision for a penalty for any party or individual or company or other entity who violates the Ordinance. No truck, trailer, truck and trailer, vehicle, van, car or any other form of traffic exceeding the maximum amount of 10 tons shall be used to cross and/or traverse that bridge located along South Ramona Road between State Route 422 and King Street at any time commencing upon the effective date of this Ordinance and continuing indefinitely until otherwise amended by the Board of Supervisors. That segment of South Ramona Road shall be marked in accordance with all regulations of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation with signs indicating that no trucks, no trucks and trailers in combination, no vehicles and/or vans and/or cars in excess of 10 tons may be used to cross and/or traverse that bridge located upon South Ramona Road. Signs shall be erected on either end of the bridge informing motorists of the weight restriction and signs shall also be placed at the intersections nearest each end of this segment of South Ramona Road at its intersection with State Route 422 and its intersection with the Township road known as King Street so that motorists might avoid that restricted portion of South Ramona Road. Any vehicle using South Ramona Road in violation of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $500.00, or in lieu thereof be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not more than 30 days. Any business located upon South Ramona Road which has no alternate route available to access its business may apply to the Township for an exemption permit.
