Transportation of Pupils
2025-2026, 2026-2027, 2027-2028 School Year
The Pine Bush Central School District invites sealed bids for providing transportation for the 2025-2026, 2026-2027, 2027-2028 school year for; The request for Bid including forms for bid, certification, conditions, specifications, may be obtained from the Pine Bush Elementary building at the Transportation Office, 21 Ulsterville Road, Pine Bush, NY 12566, starting October 1, 2025 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., or by calling Rachel Sheets at (845)744-2031 ext. 4061.
In all cases it must be understood that the conditions and specifications set forth in the request for the bid by the District shall apply. Sealed bids shall be sent to the District Office and shall be clearly marked “Pupil Transportation Bid - Do Not Open Until 1 p.m. October 20, 2025.” Such bids will be received until 1 p.m. on October 20, 2025 at which time and place all bids will be publicly acknowledged. The District reserves the right to reject all bids, waive any informalities in bids and to negotiate any portion of bids.
A meeting of potential Contractors will be held at District Office 156 Route 302 Pine Bush NY, 12566 on October 6, 2025 at 1 p.m., to address any questions or concerns relative to the proposed contract will be evaluated on a weighted system established by the District for each of the categories reviewed. Any aspects of the service not addressed by specifications are left the Bidder to address. Bids are solicited for total transportation services.
When a District elects to receive bids submitted in response to a request for proposals, such School shall evaluate each bids from a responding Contractor according to criteria established by the Commissioner, which criteria shall include at a minimum (i) the previous experience of the Contractor in transporting pupils, (ii) the name of each transportation company the Contractor has been an owner or manager and previous experience, (iii) a description of any safety program implemented by the Contractor, (iv) a record of accidents in motor vehicles under the control of the Contractor, (v) driving history of employees of the Contractor, (vi) inspection records and model year of the motor vehicle under the control of the Contractor, (vii) maintenance schedule of the motor vehicles under the control of the Contractor, (ix) compliance with insurance requirements, and (x) total cost of the bid.
Bids will be evaluated and awarded based on the following criteria by the School pursuant to Sections 305 and 3625 of the Education Law and 8 NYCRR Par 156.12 of the Regulation of the Commissioner of Education. Bids scoring less than 75 points will not be considered for an award contract.

Security in the form of a bid bond or certified check payable to the Pine Bush Central School District in the amount often percent (10%) of the contract is required to be submitted with the bid. A performance and payment bond in a sum of one hundred percent (100%) of the annual amount of the contract may be required as set forth the Request for Bid.
