PUBLIC NOTICE FOR SURFACE AND UNDERGROUND COAL MINING & RECLAMATION
PERMIT RENEWAL APPLICATION
Rosebud Mining Company located at 301 Market Street, Kittanning, Pa., 16201 has submitted a surface and underground coal mining & reclamation renewal application numbered DR-2448-2 to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mineral Resources Management. The surface application area is located in Guernsey County, Londonderry Township, Section 18, Township 10N, Range 7W on the property of John C & James D. Whitley.
The underground application area is located in Guernsey County, Londonderry Township, Sections 1, 2, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 21, Township 11N, Range 7W, and Sections 6, 11, 12, 17, 18, Township 10N, Range 7W and land also located in Belmont County, Flushing Township, Sections 31 & 32, Township 10N, Range 6W, located on various property owners.
The application contains 108.5 surface acres and 5,826.0 underground acres and is located on the Antrim, Freeport, Piedmont and Fairview 7.5 Minute U.S.G.S. Quadrangle Maps. The surface acreage is located approximately 2.7 miles south of Londonderry. The underground area will be mined by the room and pillar mining method.
A road permit has been obtained to mine within 100 feet of the outside right-of-way line and through County Road 95 at the location described above. The road permit is valid from June 26th, 2014 and shall remain in effect until mining and reclamation operations are complete.
The application is on file at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mineral Resources Management office located at 9900 Brick Church Road, Cambridge, Ohio 43725-2159 and at the Belmont County Recorder’s Office, located in Belmont County Courthouse, 101 West Main Street,
St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950 for public viewing. Written comments or requests for an informal conference may be sent to the Division of Mineral Resources Management 2045 Morse Road, Building H-2, Columbus, OH 43229 within thirty (30) days after the last date of publication of this notice.
