VOTING REQUIREMENTS
A person must be a citizen of the United States,
A resident of the State of New Jersey for 30 days
And shall obtain the age of 18 years by
Election Day, November 4, 2025
LAST DAY TO REGISTER OR TRANSFER FOR THE NOVEMBER 4, 2025 GENERAL ELECTION IS OCTOBER 14, 2025
ATTENTION: VOTERS WHO HAVE MOVED
If you were a registered voter in one of Municipalities of Passaic County, moved to another Municipality of this County but did not submit a Change of Address to the County Commissioner of Registration, you are entitled to vote in the General Election. On Election Day you should go to your new Polling Place in your new Town of Residence (Passaic County) to obtain a Provisional Ballot on which you will vote. If you require assistance to determine your new Polling Place you may contact you Municipal Clerk in your new Town of Residence or you may call the Commissioner of Registration at 973-881-4515, 4516
If you already completed a voter registration form for your new address, you will receive a sample ballot in the mail. If you do not receive the sample ballot, follow the instructions above, or call the Office of your County Commissioner of Registration before Election Day. Any registered voter who has moved to another County any time prior to 21 days before the election on November 4, 2025 must have completed a new voter registration in order to vote. If you moved to another County within 21 days of the election, you may vote in your Polling Place in your former County of Residence and should sign an Affirmation of Residence - Part II.
If you moved within the same Election District you may vote at your same Polling Place and should sign an Affirmation of Residence Part III which will be provided by your District Election Board who will verify your address for this purpose.
If your Voting Record is tagged and you claim not to have moved, you may vote at your same Polling Place and should sign an Affirmation of Residence - Part I
ASSISTANCE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
Person unable to vote at the Polling Place due to permanent or temporary disability may request an Absentee Ballot Application by telephoning the Office of the County Clerk at 973-881-4127. The Office of the Board of Elections may be contacted for information regarding Polling Place assignments and assistance to voters who choose to vote at the Polling Place on Election Day. Pursuant to the provisions of the ''Voting Accessibility for the Elderly and Handicapped Act of 1984'' a telecommunications device for the deaf (TDD) is maintained at the Election Division, Department of State, Trenton, N.J. Persons wishing to utilize this service to obtain general voter information may do so by dialing 1-800-292-0039.
Under New Jersey Law you have the right to vote in privacy, to have a reasonable amount of time to vote, to receive a replacement ballot if you spoil the first one, and to bring written material into the polling place for your personal use.
A "Voter's Bill of Rights" will be prominently displayed at your polling place.
If you believe that your right to vote has been violated in any way, you should immediately notify your county Board of Elections or County Superintendent of Elections.
VOTER REGISTRATION
Voter Registration may also be accomplished in the following manner:
1. By registering in person at any Offices designated by the Commissioner
2. By completing a Voter Registration Form while applying for a Motor Vehicle Driver's License from an agent of the Division of Motor Vehicles.
3. By completing and returning to the Secretary of State or having returned thereto a Voter Registration Form received from a Voter Registration Agency while applying for services or assistance or seeking a re certification, renewal or change of address at an Office of that Agency.
4. By completing and returning to the Secretary of State or having returned thereto a Voter Registration Form from a door-to-door canvas or mobile registration drive.
5. By completing and returning to the Secretary of State a Voter Registration Form from a Public Agency.
6. By completing and returning to the Secretary of State a ''Federal Mail Voter Registration Form.
7. By completing and returning to the Secretary of State or the appropriate County Clerk a request for a ''Federal Postcard Application Form'' to register to vote as provided for in the ''Overseas Absentee Voting Act".
