NOTICE OF PROPOSAL TO CONVEY CITY-OWNED REAL ESTATE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council has adopted a resolution relating to a proposal to convey a permanent Underground Electric Easement in a portion of City property located at 1515 Harriet Street, Des Moines, Iowa, as legally described below, to MidAmerican Energy Company for the ICON Water Trails project:
A PERMANENT ELECTRICAL EASEMENT LOCATED IN PART OF PARCEL 2019-42 BEING LOTS 64 THROUGH 68 AND PART OF LOTS 69 THROUGH 76 IN T.M. WALKER'S ADDITION AND PART OF LOT 63 IN BROOKS & CO'S ADDITION AND LOTS 77 TO 82 INCLU T.M. WALKER'S ADDITION IN THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 11, T78N, R24W OF THE 5TH PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, CITY OF DES MOINES, POLK COUNTY, IOWA, AS SHOWN ON THIS EXHIBIT AND MORE COMPLETELY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: COMMENCING AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF PARCEL 2019-42 BOOK 17559 PG 78, THENCE SOUTH 00°06'36" EAST, 14.08' ALONG THE EAST LINE OF SAID PARCEL TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE SOUTH 87°58'09" EAST, 84.18'; THENCE NORTH 73°57'29" EAST, 59.30' TO A POINT ON THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF HARRIET STREET; THENCE SOUTH 89°43'27" EAST, 35.59' ALONG THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF HARRIET STREET; THENCE SOUTH 73°57'29" WEST, 95.05'; THENCE NORTH 87°58'09 WEST, 96.00'; THENCE SOUTH 03°40'01" EAST, 64.46'; THENCE SOUTH 86°19'59" WEST, 10.00'; THENCE NORTH 03°40'01" WEST, 75.50'; THENCE SOUTH 87°58'09" EAST, 21.28' TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING. SAID PARCEL CONTAINS 2,479 SQUARE FEET OR 0.06 ACRES MORE OR LESS, SUBJECT TO EASEMENTS AND RESTRICTIONS OF RECORD.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, will consider the proposed conveyance after a public hearing to be held at 5:00 p.m., in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 400 Robert D. Ray Drive, Des Moines, Iowa, on November 3, 2025. Persons interested in the proposal will be given the opportunity to express their views at that hearing.
