Police District
Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of a Resolution of the Board of Trustees of Lawrence Township, Stark County, Ohio, passed on the 28th day of July, 2025, there will be submitted to a vote of the people at the General Election to be held at the regular places of voting on the 4th day of November, 2025, the following: “A replacement of a tax for the benefit of Lawrence Township Police District for the purpose of providing and maintaining motor vehicles, communications, and other equipment used directly in the operation of a police department, or the payment of salaries of permanent police personnel, including the payment of the police officer employers’ contribution required under section 742.33 of the Revised Code, or the payment of the costs incurred as a result of contracts made with other political subdivisions in order to obtain police protection that the county auditor estimates will collect $664,881 annually, at a rate not exceeding 2 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $70 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s appraised value, for a continuing period of time, commencing in 2026, first due in calendar year 2027.”
The polls for the election will be open at 6:30 a.m. and remain open until 7:30 p.m. Canton time, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
