PROCEEDINGS OF THE WRPS REGULAR BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING
September 8, 2025 – 6:00 p.m.
Board Members Present: John Benbow, Troy Bier, Christopher Inda, John Krings, Jaime Sparkes, Kathi Stebbins-Hintz
The Board unanimously approved special Board of Education meeting minutes of August 7, 2025; regular Board of
Education meeting minutes of August 11, 2025; and special closed Board meeting minutes of August 11, 2025. Motion
carried unanimously.
Committee Reports
Through the Educational Services Committee, the Board:
Unanimously approved of the candidates chosen as the parent representatives: Makena Detlor to serve on the
Council for Instructional Improvement (CII) for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years and Kristie Egge to serve on
the CII for the 2025-26, 2026-27, and 2027-28 school years.
Unanimously approved the acceptance of the following Career and Technical Education Grants: Carl Perkins Grant
for $51,034.00, Technical Incentive Grant for $59,952.00, Youth Apprenticeship Grant for $16,615.95, and
Unlocking Wisconsin Pathways Mentor Grant for $2,529.00.
Unanimously approved the acceptance of the 2025-26 Gifted and Talented Education Program Grant in the amount
of $25,000.00.
Unanimously approved of the acceptance of the 2025-26 Peer Review Mentor Grant in the amount of $24,772.00.
Heard updates and reports on the HOSA International Leadership Conference.
Heard updates and reports on "Every Student Succeeds Act" (ESSA) which provided entitlement grants that states receive through the federal government. The grant allocations is as follows: Title 1 - $1,182,573.00, Title II -
$172.822.00, Title III - $13,763.00, and Title IV - $86,460.00. The District Title Buildings are Grove, Howe, Mead, and River Cities High School.
Heard updates and reports on technical changes to Neola policies.
Unanimously approved of regular Committee meeting minutes of September 2, 2025.
Through the Business Services Committee, the Board:
Unanimously approved to accept the quote from Wheeler's Chevrolet to purchase the 2025 Cargo Van for $43,244.50 to be paid from the 2025-26 Buildings and Grounds Budget.
Heard updates and reports on various invoices, bid specs, and purchases.
Heard updates and reports on student fees.
Heard updates and reports on donations.
Unanimously approved of regular Committee meeting minutes of September 2, 2025.
Through the Personnel Services Committee, the Board:
Unanimously approved of the professional staff appointments of Helena Ackerlund, Katherine Hall, and Kathryn Saunders.
Unanimously approved of the support staff appointments of Heather Eklund, Sarah Brockman, Michael Krenz, Kameron Collins, Brooke Matsch, Bethany Kurschner, Pamela Jennings, Brooke Houston, Ashley Kelnhofer, Katrena Vue, Lynette Braun, Erin Jacobson, Leslie Mikolajczyk, Amy Pavelec, Viridiana Fosnow, Kimberly Martin, Beth Elliott, and Aurelia Garza.
Unanimously approved of the professional staff resignation of Anna Goldbach.
Unanimously approved of the support staff resignations of Madison Graf, Hannah Bialas, Amelia Blum, Debra Cleworth, Heather Eklund, Katherine Barthel, Linda Sanger, and Julie Lieber.
Unanimously approved of the support staff retirement of Rebecca Jones.
Unanimously approved of the $1,750.00 stipend for the Elementary Library Media Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year.
Unanimously approved of the $1,750.00 stipend to coordinate the Common School Fund Budget for the 2025-2026 school year.
PROCEEDINGS
Unanimously approved of a 2% co-curricular stipend for the WRAMS leaders of the Fitness Club for the 2025-2026 school year.
Unanimously approved of an additional Special Education teacher at Woodside Elementary School.
Unanimously approved of the recommended changes to Personal Day language in the Professional Staff Handbook seen in Attachment A, effective September 8, 2025.
Unanimously approved of the addition of one district-wide Bilingual ELL Aide.
Unanimously approved of regular Committee meeting minutes of September 2, 2025.
Bills
On a roll call vote, the Board unanimously approved to note August 2025 receipts in the amount of $1,394,014.38 and August, 2025 disbursements in the amount of $2,782,862.68.
New Business
Under New Business, the Board:
Heard Updates and reports on the 2026 health insurance renewal and options; Anovia Direct Primary Care Clinic offered to members covered under the health insurance plan; and 2026 HSA contribution distribution options
