PUBLIC NOTICE OPEN HOUSE PUBLIC HEARING BY ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE ILLINOIS 29/SANGAMON AVENUE AND DIRKSEN PARKWAY INTERSECTION RECONSTRUCTION   The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be hosting an open house public hearing for Phase I preliminary engineering to evaluate reconstructing the intersection at Illinois 29/Sangamon Ave and Dirksen Pkwy in Springfield.   Wednesday, November 12, 2025 4:00PM to 6:00PM   Northfield Center 3280 Northfield Dr Springfield, IL 62702   The purpose of the hearing is to introduce the proposed project to the community. In addition, the meeting will also present the expected right-of-way that will need to be purchased to complete the project, outline the anticipated project schedule, and gather public input. Exhibits and maps will be available for viewing during the hearing. All persons interested in this project are invited to attend.   The hearing will be conducted on an informal basis with no formal presentation. IDOT representatives and the consultant engineering firm of Prairie Engineers will be available to answer questions and receive comments about the project. Comments can be accepted at the hearing or submitted after the hearing. Written comments should be returned by December 3, 2025.   This meeting is accessible to individuals with disabilities.
