Permit No. ST0007343
Applicant: Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility
1400 Farragut Avenue
Bremerton, WA 98314
Kitsap County
Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) has reapplied for a State Waste Discharge permit, in accordance with the provisions of 90.48 Revised Code of Washington as amended and the Federal Clean Water Act to discharge process wastewater to the City of Bremerton Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The majority of operations at PSNS & IMF remain the same as the previous permit. PSNS & IMF is proposing installing an additional oily water treatment system (OWTS) to support operations at a new pier, identified as OWTS Plant 8. Wastewater streams and treatment technologies at OWTS Plant 8 will be identical to the existing seven OWTSs currently operating at the facility. However, this additional OWTS will increase total OWTS flow from the facility to an average daily flow of 41,000 gallons per day from 36,100 gallons per day, representing about an 11% flow volume increase to the sanitary sewer.
