NOTICE OF APPROVAL
CITY OF PLAINFIELD ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on October 8, 2025, the City of Plainfield Zoning
Board of Adjustment granted approval to applicant, Family Promise, Inc. to use
the first floor and a portion of the second floor as offices, the remainder of the
second floor as a residential apartment, and the third floor as a residential
apartment; in order to comply with previously approved uses granted in 1956,
1969 and in 1997. The 1997 letter from then zoning officer Joselyn M. Pringley
indicates, "records available to this office states that the conference room on the
second floor is part of the first-floor professional offices and may continue to be
used as same". Previous variances granted in 1956 allowing for two families and
[doctor's] offices, and, in 1969 granting the Boy Scouts of America, a non-profit,
to use the structure as their headquarters on the property located at 901-909
Watchung Avenue (also known as 905 Watchung Avenue), Plainfield, New Jersey
07060, and designated as Lot 22 in Block 642 in the Crescent Area District on the
City of Plainfield Tax Map, which approval was memorialized by a written
Resolution adopted on November 12, 2025. The Resolution is on file at the office
of the Zoning Board Secretary, located in the Division of Planning and Community
Development, Second Floor, City Hall, 515 Watchung Avenue, Plainfield, New
Jersey, and is available for inspection during the Secretary's normal business
hours.
