PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
JOINT MEETING OF
THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS & PLANNING BOARD
In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A Sections 9 and 10, and the Town of Berkley Zoning By-Law,Sections 4.1.1, 6.2.3, 6.2.5, 6.2.7,10.5 and 10.7 the Berkley Zoning Board of Appeals and the Planning Board will hold a joint public hearing as follows:
THURSDAY DECEMBER 4, 2025
At 6:00pm at the Berkley Town Hall 1 North Main Street Berkley, MA in the Council on Aging Room. The purpose of the public hearing is, to consider applications for a variance, special permit(s) and site plan review for Dover Amendment uses, presented by the following- Owner and/or Applicant:
Town of Berkley/Berkley Public Schools-Owner
Taylor & Burns Architects- Robert Taylor -Applicant
The Owner and/or Applicant(s) are seeking the following zoning relief: (i) a variance from the Zoning Bd of Appeals to exceed the 35-foot Maximum Building Height in the Residential (R) zoning district- (ii) Special Permits from the Planning Bd for a internally lit sign and for a sign with a total area of more than nine (9) sq. ft., and (iii) site plan review by the Planning Bd of an educational use exempt pursuant to G.L. c. 40A, § 3, a.k.a. the Dover Amendment; all relative to and in connection with the development of a new public school at certain property at: 59 So. Main Street, Berkley.
Said property is further identified in the Town Assessor’s records as Map 4 Lot 66 & Map 12 Lot 7.
Any person(s) interested or wishing to be heard on this matter should attend this joint hearing. Copies of the above applications are on file with the Town Clerk and are available for public inspection during the Town Clerk’s regular business hours.
