Project File No. 612770 LEGAL NOTICE THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS MASSACHUSETTS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION – HIGHWAY DIVISION NOTICE OF A VIRTUAL DESIGN PUBLIC HEARING   Abington – Intersection Improvements at Route 18 (Bedford Street) and Route 123 (Brockton Avenue) Project File No. 612770   A Virtual Design Public Hearing will be hosted on the MassDOT website below to present the design for the proposed project in Abington, MA.   WHEN: Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 6:30PM   PURPOSE: The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed project. All views and comments submitted in response to the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.   PROPOSAL: The proposed project consists of the reconstruction of the intersection of Bedford Street (Route 18) at Brockton Avenue (Route 123). The project spans from Rockland Street continuing 800 feet to the east along Brockton Avenue, and 500 feet to the north and south of the intersection along Bedford Street. The proposed reconstruction will include traffic signal upgrades, new lane configurations, new sidewalk with ADA compliant ramps, the addition of crosswalks, and 5-foot bicycle lanes throughout the project limits.   A secure right-of-way is necessary for this project. Acquisitions in fee and permanent or temporary easements may be required. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is responsible for acquiring all needed rights in private or public lands.
