PROCEEDINGS OF THE WRPS REGULAR BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING November 10, 2025 – 6:00 p.m. Board Members Present: John Benbow, Troy Bier, Christopher Inda, John Krings, Jaime Sparkes, Kathi Stebbins-Hintz The Board unanimously approved regular Board of Education meeting minutes of October 13, 2025; special Board of Education meeting minutes of October 23, 2025. Motion carried unanimously. Committee Reports Through the Educational Services Committee, the Board: Unanimously approved of eliminating Accelerated Financial Algebra and LVS Accelerated Financial Algebra beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Unanimously approved of modifying the credits earned from 1.0 to .5 credit for Financial Algebra beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Unanimously approved of the proposed course Tech College Math as a 1.0 dual credit math course available to students in 11th and 12th grades beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Unanimously approved of modifying the prerequisites for Intermediate Algebra to C- or better in Algebra and Geometry, passing grades in Tech College Math, or teacher approval beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Unanimously approved of changing the course title of Algebra I in 8th grade to Accelerated Algebra I beginning the 2026- 2027 school year. Unanimously approved of changing the names of Principles of Economics to Money Matters: Economics and Financial Skills for Life and Principles of Economics Blended to Money Matters: Economics and Financial Skills for Life Blended beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Unanimously approved of AP Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics to continue to count as a social studies graduation credit and will no longer count as financial literacy credits beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Unanimously approved of the proposed course Adaptive Arts for special education students in grades 6-8 beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Unanimously approved of the proposed course Raider Arts as a .5 elective credit course available to students in 9th through 12th grades beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Unanimously approved of the course Life Responders to be open to students in grades 10-12 as a .5 elective credit beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Unanimously approved of the course Strength and Fitness being available to students in all 3 trimesters beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Unanimously approved of changing the name of PE2 to Team Sports beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Unanimously approved of dropping the course Aerobics/Triathlon beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Unanimously approved of allowing students with IEPs to earn.5 elective credit for the trimester course RIE: Resource beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Unanimously approved of the 29 applications to participate in the 11 requested courses at Mid-State Technical College through the Start College Now (SCN) program in the spring of the 2025-2026 school year. Unanimously approved of School Board Policy 2131.01: Reading Instructional Goals and Kindergarten Assessment. Unanimously approved of the proposed World Language trip to France from June 16-28, 2027, under the direction of Ms. Justine Horvath, WRPS World Languages Teacher. Unanimously approved of the proposed Art Trip to Italy, France, and Spain from June 10-22, 2027, under the direction of Ms. Jeanine Kleman, LHS Art Teacher. The Board considered a motion to approve the purchase of MasteryConnect. The motion failed. Agenda item: Changes to School Board Policy 5463: Graduation Requirements was removed. As a result, the item was not acted upon and was removed from the agenda. Heard updates and reports on survey results from the possible start date waiver for the 2026-2027 school year. Heard updates and reports on Student travel; German trip to Aurora, IL, and Orchestra trip to Spain. Unanimously approved of regular Committee meeting minutes of November 3, 2025. Through the Business Services Committee, the Board: Unanimously approved to purchase and install door access control hardware and key fob readers on doors at South Wood County Recreation Center from Systems Technologies. Heard updates and reports on various invoices, bid specs, and purchases. Heard updates and reports on donations. Unanimously approved of regular Committee meeting minutes of November 3, 2025. Through the Personnel Services Committee, the Board: Unanimously approved of the professional staff appointment of Wanda Neve. Unanimously approved of the support staff appointments of Amber Philbrick, Kristine Belland, AnnMarie Myren, Mariana Cruz, Delanie Fox, Julia Krueger, Linda Bidwell, Chastity Walker, Paige Weber, and Brittany Barritt. Unanimously approved of the professional staff resignations of Sarah Doebereiner, and Lisa Butzen. Unanimously approved of support staff resignations of Michelle Diebel, Elizabeth King, Natalee Haddow, and Beth Crotteau. Unanimously approved to terminate the UNUM group policy, with currently insured employees switching to direct billing through UNUM. Unanimously approved of the $1,500 stipend for the role of District Canvas Coordinator for the 2025-2026 school year. Heard updates and reports on the 2025-2026 Open Enrollment. Unanimously approved of regular Committee meeting minutes of November 3, 2025. Bills On a roll call vote, the Board unanimously approved to note October, 2025 receipts in the amount of $100,729.50 and October, 2025 disbursements in the amount of $4,498,993.45. New Business Under New Business, the Board: Unanimously approved the 2026-2027 school year calendar as proposed. Unanimously approved a new position for a Lincoln High School Head Girls' Wrestling Coach with a stipend of 14% to begin immediately. Unanimously approve of entering into a collaborative agreement for legal services with the City of Wisconsin Rapids for property tax assessments litigation. PROCEEDINGS OF THE WRPS SPECIAL BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING October 23, 2025 – 7:00 p.m. Board Members Present: John Benbow, Troy Bier, Christopher Inda, John Krings, Elizabeth St.Myers The Board met for the purpose of reviewing and amending the 2025-26 District budget and to approve the tax levy, taking the following action: Unanimously approved to amend the 2025-2026 District budget and approve the 2025-26 District Tax Levy in the amount of $25,721,849 with the reallocations in Fund 10.
