ORDINANCE 25-252
An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 1-2-1 of the Municipal Code of the City of Two Rivers, Fees, and to Create Section 6-15, 'Weights and Measures.'
The City Council of the City of Two Rivers has adopted Ordinance No. 25-252 Chapter 1-2-1 of the Municipal Code, Fees, and to Create Section 6-15,'Weights and Measures.' This ordinance amends the City's fee schedule to establish annual weights and measures license fees, including a $25 annual license fee and additional per-device fees designed to recover the City's actual costs for state inspection and sealing services provided by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP), along with related administrative expenses.
The ordinance also creates a new Chapter 6-15, Weights and Measures, adopting and incorporating Wisconsin Statutes Chapter 98 and Wisconsin Administrative Code ATCP 92. It requires an annual license for commercial weighing and measuring devices used within the City to compute charges based on weight or measure, establishes application and licensing procedures, sets license terms expiring December 31 each year, provides exemptions for certain sales such as farmers markets and direct sellers, and outlines enforcement and penalties for failure to obtain or renew a license.
This ordinance shall take effect upon passage and publication as provided by law.
