NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
A public hearing will be held by the Environmental Resources Committee of the Marathon County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., Marathon County Courthouse Assembly Room B-105 500 Forest Street Wausau 54403, at which time the Committee will consider the following:
1. The petition of Tim Vreeland on behalf of Michael Garman to amend the General Code of Ordinance for Marathon county Chapter 17 Zoning Code to rezone lands from F-P Farmland Preservation to N-C Neighborhood Commercial described as all of Lot 1 of CSM 8443-33-11 and that part of the Northwest ¼ of the Northwest ¼ of Section 22, Township 28 North, Range 2 East, Town of Hull. Area to be rezoned to N-C Neighborhood Commercial is described as Lot 1 of the preliminary CSM. Parent parcels #044-2802-222-0996 and 044-2802-222-0997. 2. The petition of Tim Vreeland on behalf of Charles Beck to amend the General Code of Ordinance for Marathon County Chapter 17 Zoning Code to rezone lands from L-D-R Low Density Residential and G-A General Agriculture to R-R Rural Residential located in part of the Southeast ¼ of the Fractional Northeast ¼ of Section, 5, Township 29 North, Range 9 East, Town of Easton. Area being rezoned to R-R Rural Residential is described as Lot 1 of the preliminary CSM. Parent Parcel #018-2909-051-0992 and #018-2909-051-0994.
3. The petition of Tim Vreeland on behalf of Kenneth and Mary Leick Trust, Patricia Iwaszczenko, and Dan Leick to amend the General Code of ordinance for Marathon County Chapter 17 Zoning Code to rezone lands from Farmland Preservation and U-R Urban Residential to G-A General Agriculture and R-R Rural Residential, described as all of lots 1 and 2 of CSM 19224 and lot 1 of CSM 9455, located in the Southeast ¼ of the Northeast ¼ of Section 36, Township 27 North, Range 3 East, Town of Eau Pleine. Area proposed to be rezoned to G-A General Agriculture is described as Lot 1 and the areas proposed to be rezoned to R-R Rural Residential are described as Lot 2 and Lot 3 of the preliminary CSM. Parent Parcel #020-2703-361-0992, #020-2703-361-0993, #020-2703-361-0994.
4. The petition of Scott R. Rueden and Patricia S. Rueden on behalf of Jessica L. Lindberg, Kristel K. Tavere, and Ashley T. Thielman, co trustees of the Rueden Family Legacy Trust to amend the General Code of ordinance for Marathon County Chapter 17 Zoning Code to rezone lands from G-A General Agriculture to R-R Rural Residential described as Lot 2 of the CSM recorded in Volume 39, Page 28, #9605, Document #1102784 and located in the Southeast ¼ of the Northeast ¼ of Section 21, Township 29 North, Range 2 East, Town of Holton. Parent Parcel #042-2902-211-0994.
5. The petition of Shad Harvey, Marathon County Land Resources Manager, to repeal the existing Marathon County Chapter 17 – Zoning Code in its entirety and replace it with the new Chapter 17 – Zoning Code Comprehensive Revision. A copy of the proposed Comprehensive Revision is available on the Marathon County website for public review at www.marathoncounty.gov/services/zoning or at the Marathon County Conservation, Planning, and Zoning Office, located at 1100 Lake View Drive, Suite 400, Wausau, WI 54403. All interested persons will be provided the opportunity to be heard at the public hearing. Those planning to attend this meeting who need some type of special accommodation in order to participate should call the County Clerk's Office at 715-261-1500.
