Notice is hereby given that the West Lafayette Board of Public Works and Safety, as disposing agent, will receive sealed bids until the hour of 8:30 a.m. (local time) on January 6, 2026, at the Clerk’s Office, Margerum City Hall, 222 N. Chauncey Avenue, West Lafayette, IN 47906 on the lease of the following described real estate located on parcel 79-03-17-200-012.000-017 on N 75 E in West Lafayette, Indiana:

Sixteen (16) acres off of the South end of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section Seventeen (17), Township Twenty-four (24) North, Range Four (4) West, Tippecanoe Township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana, being more completely described as follows, to-wit:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 17-24-4; thence South 0°10’27’ West along the West line of said Quarter a distance of 1317.25 feet to the Southwest Corner of the Northwest Quarter of said Quarter and the point of beginning of the herein described tract; thence South 87°26’53” East along the South line of said Quarter Quarter a distance of 1340.61 feet to the Southeast Corner of said Quarter Quarter; thence North 0°12’00” East along the East line of said Quarter Quarter a distance of 520.28 feet to a railroad spike; thence North 87°26’53” West parallel with said South line a distance of 1340.85 feet to a re-bar on said West line; thence South 0°10’27” West along said West line a distance of 520.29 feet to the point of beginning, containing 16.000 acres.

The lease amount for the real estate shall be no less than the appraised fair rental value of the real estate, which is $290 per acre. This will be a single-year lease.
Please be advised the property may not be leased to a person who is ineligible under IC § 36-1-11-16. An offer to lease submitted by a trust (as defined in IC § 30-4-1-1(a)) must identify each beneficiary of the trust and each settlor empowered to revoke or modify the trust.
Each proposal shall be in a sealed envelope directed to the Board of Public Works and Safety of West Lafayette and plainly marked to indicate the title of the project and the name and address of the bidder. Late bids will be returned unopened. No oral, telephoned, telegraphed, facsimile, or email bids or changes to bids will be considered.
The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive, to the extent permitted by law, any of the terms, conditions, or provisions contained in this Notice to Bidders or the Instructions to Bidders, or any informality, irregularity, or omission of any bid provided that such waiver shall, in the discretion of the Board, be to the advantage of the City of West Lafayette.
