AURORA PARK PHASE 1A CONSTRUCTION
Work includes but not limited to the following items: the reconfiguration of the main park entrance and intersection, asphalt parking lots, park roads, asphalt trails, concrete walks, unit pavers, aggregate surfacing, fencing, gates and gate operators, dumpster enclosure, boat ramp with dock and accessible kayak launch, Gatehouse plaza with two restored/reconstructed open air building structures with restroom facilities, restoration of pier, dock, and shelter, new utilities including; water lines, sanitary sewer service along with temporary pumping station, storm sewers, electrical power and site lighting, natural gas, fiber optics with site security cameras, naturalized lake edge with hardscaped gathering spaces, lawns and landscaping. The project is anticipated to begin immediately upon award and must attain Final Completion by August 31, 2026.
Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting: Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 10 a.m. (weather permitting). Alternative date of Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 1 p.m. will be communicated via Bid Express if necessary.
The engineer’s estimates for the proposed improvements $16,750,000.00
The City of Aurora will only receive Bids through the Bid Express website at https://www.bidexpress.com. All bid forms, contract documents, and plans are available through the Bid Express website. A fee of $50 will be incurred to bid electronically on a pay-per-solicitation basis; alternatively, vendors may subscribe for $60 per month to have access to all solicitations and email notifications.
Each bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier’s check, an irrevocable letter of credit in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, or digital or paper bid bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the amount bid, signed by a Surety Company authorized to transact business in the State of Ohio. Such check or bid bond shall be made payable to the City of Aurora, Ohio and will be held as a guarantee that in the event the bid is accepted, and a contract awarded to the bidder, the Contract will be duly executed and its performance properly secured. If not providing a digital bid bond, wet-ink original bid bonds, checks, or letters of credit must be delivered to the Office of the Director of Public Service, Aurora Service Department, 158 W. Pioneer Trail, Aurora, Ohio, by the bid opening date and time.
If any person contemplating submitting a BID for the proposed PROGRAM/PROJECT is in doubt as to the meaning of any part of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, they may submit through Bid Express a written request for interpretation thereof.

In the case of disruption of national communications or loss of services by Bid Express within two hours prior to the deadline for submission of bids, the city will delay the deadline for bid submissions to ensure the ability of potential bidders to submit bids. If this occurs, instructions will be communicated to potential bidders.
