NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE STATUS OF FUNDED ACTIVITIES (SOFA) FOR THE CITY OF DES MOINES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDING TO PREPARE FOR, PREVENT, AND RESPOND TO CORONAVIRUS (CDBG-CV 2), AS AWARDED FROM THE STATE OF IOWA'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (IEDA)
TO ALL INTERESTED AGENCIES, GROUPS AND PERSONS:
Pursuant to the requirements of Section 508 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1987, as amended, and in accordance with 24 CFR 91.05(c)(2) and subpart B of the federal regulations relative to citizen participation for Community Planning and Development Programs and applicable waivers made available to those requirements through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), the City of Des Moines will hold a public hearing on January 26, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 400 Robert D. Ray Drive, Des Moines, Iowa 50309.
The purpose of the hearing will be to discuss the status of funding of projects, including shelter operations and activity delivery costs. The projects and public services are being funded in part through a Community Development Block Grant provided by the Iowa Economic Development Authority and the City of Des Moines.
All persons wishing to comment on the funded projects may state their views at this hearing or submit written comments. Such written comments should be received before 12:00 p.m. on January 26, 2026 at the Office of the City Clerk, mailing and physical address: 400 Robert D. Ray Drive, Des Moines, Iowa 50309 or email cityclerk@dmgov.org.
