Public Notice of Implementing Various
Provisions of Act 101
Waste Management of Beach Lake Permit #101590 with the entrance at 165 Rosencranse Rd, Beach Lake, PA would like to notify the general public of the following items:
1. Pursuant to Section 1510(a), as of September 26,
1988, lead acid batteries are prohibited from being placed
in mixed municipal solid waste. Used batteries are to be taken to an automotive battery retailer or wholesaler, or to a secondary lead smelter permitted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or to a recycling facility
authorized under the laws of the Commonwealth.
2. Pursuant to Section 1502(a), municipal waste landfills and resource recovery facilities may not accept loads composed primarily of leaf waste for disposal after September 26, 1990. Leaf waste may be accepted at disposal facilities for composting provided such activities follow approved guidelines and permit requirements.
3. Pursuant to Section
1510(b), Waste Management of Beach Lake provides a drop
off center for the collection and sale of the following recyclables:
a. Aluminum
b. Steel and Bimetallic Cans
c. Cardboard
The drop off center is open from 7AM to 4:30PM.
