South Dallas County Landfill January 8, 2026 The January meeting of the South Dallas County Landfill was called to order by Chair Shirley K. McAdon at 3:30 p.m. Also present: Mike Fountas, Michael Chadwick, and Glenn Hunter. Review and Approve the Minutes of the Previous Meeting: Motion by McAdon to approve the December 11, 2025 meeting minutes. Motion carried.Review and Approve Bills: Motion by McAdon to approve the bills. Motion carried. Review and Approve Financial Reports: Chadwick will research and update the Recycling Revenue Spreadsheet, matching the Summary Spreadsheet. Motion by McAdon to approve the financial reports. Motion carried. Receive Chair's Report: Staff will post the 2026 employment posters and 2025 reports to the bulletin board. McAdon gave an update on the dissolution and transition of operations to the City of Adel; next steps include completing the purchase agreement. Receive Staff's Reports: DirectorEquipment Status: Fountas reported that all services are up-to-date. Fountas also reported that a sensor issue on the compactor was resolved. Site Status: Fountas reported that the thaw has allowed staff to work in the SW area again. Other: None. Collections: Chadwick has contacted the two customers that are 61-90 days late.Review and Approve HLW Engineering Contract Renewal: Motion by McAdon to approve the HLW Engineering contract renewal. Motion carried. Other Business: Update on possibility of bringing in more waste. Update on the changes on the Wellmark Health Insurance renewal plans. The Adel annual HHW Event will be held on April 18, 2026.
