NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING  The City of West Des Moines is holding a public hearing to consider a request for that property located at 8811 Scarlet Drive to vacate the west 16 feet of a 30’ landscape buffer easement in the rear yard of the property to allow an 4’ vinyl fence to remain in its current location which was installed in a “no build” buffer area designated on the South Maple Grove Plat 14 final plat. The fence in question was installed without a permit. The City Council will hold a public hearing at 5:35 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026. The meeting will be held in-person in the City Council Chambers, 4200 Mills Civic Parkway, as well as virtually. Virtual connection information may be found on the meeting agenda posted to the city’s website (www.wdm.iowa.gov), on the Friday evening immediately prior to the meeting. Comments may be given in person during the public hearing or written comments may submitted prior to 3:00p.m. on the day of the meeting to the contact provided below.
