APPLICATION FOR HISTORIC SITE DESIGNATION OF
“THE HAL FORREST RESIDENCE”

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Historic Site Preservation Board (HSPB) of the City of Palm Springs, California, will hold a public hearing at its meeting of February 3, 2026. The HSPB meeting begins at 5:30 p.m., in the Large Conference Room at City Hall, 3200 East Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs.
The purpose of this hearing is to consider an application for historic site designation of the Hal Forrest Residence (APN # 508-152-001) at 608 S. Indian Trail.
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed historic site designation is not subject to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Sections 15060(C)(2) (the activity will not result in a direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment) and 15060(C)(3) (the activity is not a project as defined in Section 15378) of the CEQA Guidelines, California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Chapter 3, because it has no potential for resulting in physical changes to the environment, directly or indirectly.
REVIEW OF PROJECT INFORMATION: The proposed historic resources report and related documents are available for public review via email by contacting the project planner: Sarah Yoon, Historic Preservation Officer, at sarah.yoon@palmspringsca.gov. Staff is available to answer questions by telephone at (760) 323-8245 x8768 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
COMMENT ON THIS APPLICATION: Response to this notice may be made verbally at the Public Hearing and/or in writing before the hearing:
• You may provide oral comments at the in-person hearing. Alternatively, you may provide oral comments by teleconference (remotely) by following instructions on the posted agenda. Agendas are available at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting by visiting www.palmspringsca.gov/agendas
• Written comments may be submitted to the HSPB by email at planning@palmspringsca.gov or letter to the address below. Transmittal prior to the start of the meeting is required. Any correspondence received during or after the meeting will be distributed to the HSPB as soon as practicable and retained for the official record.

Any challenge of the proposed project in court may be limited to raising only those issues raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the City Clerk at, or prior, to the public hearing. (Government Code Section 65009[b][2]).
