NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CITY OF AMES, IOWA 2025/26 SEAL COAT STREET PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM AND WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM (FERNDALE AVENUE AND FURMAN DRIVE) PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT PROJECT The City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, will meet on March 10, 2026, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, Ames, Iowa, at 6:00 p.m., at which time it will hear objections to the plans, specifications, form of contract, and cost estimate for 2025/26 Seal Coat Street Pavement Improvements Program and Water System Improvements Program (Ferndale Avenue and Furman Drive). The general nature of the work is: 3,786 CY of Excavation Class 10, 1,591 SY of Excavate Unsuitable Subgrade 12" Depth, 11,196.3 SY of Subgrade Preparation 12" Depth, 11,196.3 SY of Special Backfill 6" Depth, 3,514 LF of Footing Drain Collector and Fittings PVC 6" Dia, 170 LF of Spot Repairs by Pipe Replacement VCP 8", 814 LF of Water Main Trenched PVC 8" Dia, 1,729 LF of Water Main Trenchless PVC 8" Dia, 11 EA of Manhole Type SW-301 48" Dia, 11 EA of Intake Type SW-505, 5,243 LF of Curb & Gutter, 2,248 TON of Pavement HMA Base 5" Depth, 900 TON of Pavement HMA Surface 2" Depth, 7,964 SY of Pavement Removal and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances in accordance with the contract documents.
