NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Supervisors of Lower Makefield Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, (“Township”) will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lower Makefield Township Building, 1100 Edgewood Road, Yardley, Pennsylvania 19067. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive comment and public testimony regarding the proposed ordinance entitled,
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LOWER MAKEFIELD, BUCKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 182 OF THE TOWNSHIP’S CODE OF ORDINANCES BY REDUCING THE AMUSEMENT TAX IMPOSED UNDER ARTICLE VI, AMUSEMENT TAX, FROM TEN PERCENT (10%) TO FIVE PERCENT (5%)
The substantial nature of the proposed Ordinance is a decrease in the tax on general admission prices charged for attendance at amusements occurring within the Township from ten percent (10%) to five percent (5%). The Board of Supervisors has determined that this tax is necessary to raise revenue for general Township operations and services. The estimated revenue to be derived from this tax is $300,000.
At the public meeting after the hearing, the Board of Supervisors may consider enactment of the proposed Ordinance. A copy of the proposed Ordinance may be reviewed at the Township Building, 1100 Edgewood Road, Yardley, Pennsylvania 19067 during normal business hours; a copy may be obtained for a charge not greater than the cost thereof. A copy also has been provided to the newspaper in which this notice appears, and to the Bucks County Law Library.
