RECONSTRUCTION OF E TWELFTH ST FROM UNION ST TO MERRIFIELD AVE

The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Mishawaka, St. Joseph County, Indiana, will receive sealed bids until 10:00 a.m. (local time) on March 31, 2026 at the Office of the City Controller on the 1st Floor of City Hall, 100 Lincolnway West, Mishawaka, Indiana, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the Board of Public Works Meeting on the 2nd Floor of City Hall. Bids will only be accepted from Plan Holders of Record.

Reconstruction of E Twelfth St from
Union St to Merrifield Ave
City Project No. ENP-26-002
This project will include reconstruction of E Twelfth St from Union St to Merrifield Ave including milling, hot mix asphalt pavement, concrete drive approaches, concrete curb and gutters, concrete sidewalks, drainage improvements, pavement markings, and other appurtenant work.
Copies of the Contract Documents and Plans may be obtained at the Office of the City Controller on the 1st Floor of City Hall, Mishawaka, Indiana at no cost.
Copies of the Contract Documents and Plans are also available for examination at the Office of the City Engineer on the 2nd Floor of City Hall, Mishawaka, Indiana.
The General Contractor shall be prequalified by INDOT to perform a minimum of one (1) work type applicable to this project.
A certified check payable to the City of Mishawaka, Indiana or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and surety company, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. The bidder awarded the contract will be required to furnish a separate Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one-hundred twenty-five percent (125%) of the contract price before commencing work.
The Performance Bond and Payment Bond shall remain in effect throughout the entire construction period and in addition a Maintenance Bond in an amount of 10% of the contract price for a period of three years from the date of final completion will be required. Each bidder shall be required to complete all documents listed in the Checklist for Bidders.
Each bidder shall be required to complete the Bid Form included with these documents. The substantial completion date for this project shall be June 4, 2027.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Mishawaka, Indiana, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding and to make an award in the best interest of the City.
No bid or bid security may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least sixty (60) days.
