A free copy of the petition may be obtained from the Clerk of Juvenile Court of Chatham County, 197 Carl Griffin Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31405, on any day, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.   You are commanded to be and appear at a hearing on said matter on June 24, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 29-2-17, you are entitled to object either to the establishment of a permanent guardianship or to the selection of the petitioner as permanent guardian, or both. The notice shall require that any objection be filed in writing with the Court within 10 days of the personal service, within 14 days of the mailing of the notice, or within 10 days of the date of the second publication of notice. If you fail to appear and answer the allegations in the petition, the Court may make findings of fact and orders of disposition of the child that will affect your rights as a parent.   This is to further advise the unknown biological father who is not the legal father that you may lose all rights to object to the appointment of a permanent guardian for the Child if you do not file an objection with the Court within 14 days of the notice and file a petition to legitimate the Child within 30 days of the hearing on your objection. The notice shall include the name of the individual who will be the Child’s permanent guardian if the petition is granted.   You are entitled to counsel in these proceedings and an attorney has been appointed to represent you in this matter.
