BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP PLANNING BOARD NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, upon the Application of New Jersey American Water Company, Inc. (the "Applicant"), the Bridgewater Township Planning Board shall conduct a public hearing at a Special Meeting on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, commencing at 7:00 p.m., in the Somerset County Library System, Bridgewater Branch, 1 Vogt Drive, Bridgewater, New Jersey 08807, at which time all interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard regarding the Applicant's request for Preliminary and Final Site Plan Approval to allow for upgrades and improvements to an existing Public Utility Water Treatment Plant, known as the Raritan Millstone WTP, that is owned by the Applicant and located on a 130.69 +/- acre property, within a General Manufacturing (M-2) Zoning District, located at 100 Polhemus Road, and more particularly known as Block 342, Lot 1 on the official Tax Maps of Bridgewater Township, Somerset County (the "Property"). In particular, the Applicant is requesting Preliminary and Final Site Plan Approval for two new buildings within the WTP, including (i) a 3026.6 square foot pole barn structure (with a 502 square foot mezzanine and (ii) a 760 square foot, two story storage building with associated utility and related site improvements. In addition, Bulk Variance Approval is requested for any and all existing nonconforming conditions, including a Front Yard Setback of 65 feet from the previously approved building addition, when a minimum 150-foot Front Yard Setback is required in the M-2 Zone by Ordinance. The Raritan Millstone WTP also contains multiple principal and accessory structures and any necessary variance relief will be requested in connection with the number of, or spacing between the existing and proposed structures. The Applicant will also request any other approvals, variances, waivers, exceptions and/or other relief from the Bridgewater Township Land Development Ordinance as may be deemed necessary or required at the time of the hearing on this matter.
