Public Notice - City of Fort Pierce U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant PUBLIC COMMENT REVIEW PERIOD & PUBLIC HEARING DRAFT OF THE 2026 – 2031 CONSOLIDATED PLAN, PY 2026 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN, 2026-2031 CITIZEN PARTICIPATION PLAN Notice is given that a draft of the 2026–2031 Consolidated Plan (CON PLAN) and Citizen Participation Plan (CPP), and the 2026 Annual Action Plan (AAP) for the City of Fort Pierce will be available for a thirty-day (30) day public comment and review period. Notice is also given that a Public Hearing will be held. The City of Fort Pierce is an entitlement city and eligible for Community Develop¬ment Block Grant (CDBG) funds through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. CDBG funds are utilized by the City for housing and community development activities that are intended to benefit low- to moderate- income residents in Fort Pierce. The Consolidated Plan serves as a strategic blueprint for the city, identifying key priorities such as infrastructure improvements, public services, affordable housing, and economic and community development. It reflects the needs of Fort Pierce residents and is approved by the City Commission before being submitted to HUD for review and funding approval. Community input is vital to this process, ensuring that federal resources are allocated effectively to enhance the quality of life in Fort Pierce. This five-year plan outlines how U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds will be used over the next five (5) program years. For each of the five years, the action plan will be developed with activities that work to complete the goals the in Consolidated Plan. The Citizen Participation Plan facilitates and encourages public participation in the Consolidated Plan process and the City’s CDBG program, especially by low- and moderate-income persons. The 2026-2031 Consolidated Plan includes year one PY 2026-2027 AAP. The public comment period will begin on May 20, 2026, and end on June 18, 2026. A public hearing to review these changes and receive comments will be held at the regularly scheduled City Commission Meeting on: Monday, July 6, 2026, at 5:05 PM, Commission Chambers, Fort Pierce City Hall, 100 North U.S. Highway 1, Fort Pierce, Florida 34950. The 2026-2031 Consolidated Plan, 2026-2027 Annual Action Plan, and the Citizen Participation Plan, will be available for review at the Grants Administration Division, 100 North U.S. Highway 1, Fort Pierce, Florida 34950.
