NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NEW HANOVER COUNTY PLANNING BOARD June 4, 2026   The New Hanover County Planning Board will hold a regular meeting on Thursday, June 4, 2026 beginning at 5:00 p.m. or thereafter at the New Hanover County Historic Courthouse, 24 North Third Street (corner of Third and Princess Street), Room 301, in Wilmington, NC to consider the following requests:   The live meeting will be available on NHCTV.com and NHCTV’s cable stations: Spectrum channel 13 and Charter channel 5.   PUBLIC COMMENT: For the upcoming Planning Board meeting, individuals can submit public comments or questions in advance to https://www.nhcgov.com/1105/Public-Comment-Form by Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. Written comments will be provided to the board, and the board chair will acknowledge receipt during the public hearing or preliminary forum or will submit comments into the record during the public hearing or preliminary forum.   PUBLIC HEARINGS:   Item 1: Text Amendment Request – (TA26-01 – Crematoriums in Industrial Districts) – Request by Raymond Sharpe with RS2 Enterprises, LLC, applicant, to amend Section 2.3, Definitions and Article 4, Uses and Use Specific Standards, and Article 5, General Development Standards of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) to define the use and standards for “Crematoriums” and to allow the use in the I-1, Light Industrial and I-2, Heavy Industrial zoning districts.   The Planning Board may consider substantial changes to petitions as a result of objections, debate, and discussion at the meeting.
