HAGERSTOWN BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS
NOTICE is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Hagerstown Board of Zoning Appeals at 7:00 p.m., in the 1st Floor meeting room, City Hall, 1 East Franklin Street, Hagerstown, MD, on Thursday, June 11, 2026. At that time, parties of interest and citizens will have the opportunity to be heard relative to the following applications:
Case No. Z-2025-08 – To hear an application continued from the January 8, 2026 hearing and made by Gideon Properties for a special exception for a child day care center and a variance to reduce the minimum required lot area for a special exception use from 20,000 square feet to 10,695 square feet for an infant-only daycare center with no outdoor play area at the property located at 382 South Cleveland Avenue in the RMED Zoning District, per Sections D.5.a, U, and Z of the Zoning Ordinance.
Case No. Z-2026-01 – To hear an application made by BJC, LLC for variances to three required 25 foot front yard setbacks to 14.0 feet from Relocated Virginia Avenue, 15.0 feet from Virginia Avenue, and 15.0 feet from the right of way of the connector that connects these two streets for the purpose of constructing a single-family detached dwelling on an unimproved lot per Sections D.5.a and U of the Zoning Ordinance. This lot is located on the west side of Relocated Virginia Avenue, the east side of Virginia Avenue and south of Howard Street.
