Notice of Public Hearing

Acting under the provisions of the Code of the Town of Barnstable, §112-1 through §112-7, the Historical Commission will hold a Public Hearing on the following applications:
Oates, Dale, 7 Valley Avenue, Centerville, Map 226, Parcel 068, Built 1900
Partial Demolition: Demo the existing front screened porch, roof deck, and entry wood deck. Rebuild the screen in porch all within the existing footprint.
Ale, Margaret TR, 68 Wachusett Avenue, Hyannis Port, Map 287, Parcel 081/001, Built 1950
Partial Demolition: Lift and move existing one level structure on property. Frame a new first floor, hoist existing structure and place onto new first floor framing and foundation. The building will be moved on the same lot to decrease non-conformity.

Partial Demolition: Relocate stairs in the existing deck to the west end. Open the walls and remove existing door and windows in the area of the new kitchen. Remove a small chimney. Rebuild the stairs at the east end of the deck and infill the west end with like materials. Install new sliding doors and windows. All materials to match existing.

Partial Demolition: Addition to the rear of the dwelling.

Full Demolition: Demolish the existing structure due to structural integrity issues.

Partial Demolition: Selected and minor demolition scope includes removal of the existing roof structure over the small wing only. Salvage and relocate existing windows to use in addition. Construct a modest volumetric addition at the side wing and installation of a new roof assembly designed to match the existing historic structure. All materials to match.
The Barnstable Historical Commission Public Hearing will be held in person. Alternative public access to this meeting shall be provided in the following manner:
1. These hearings will be held in person at 4:00 PM Tuesday June 16, 2026 within the Selectmen’s Conference Room at Barnstable Town Hall, 2nd floor, 367 Main Street, Hyannis, MA, 02601.
2. This meeting will replayed via Xfinity Channel 8 or high-definition Channel 1072. It may also be accessed via the Government Access Channel live video on demand archives on the Town of Barnstable’s website: https://barnstable.cablecast.tv/internetchannel
3. Documentary exhibits and/or visual presentations should be submitted in advance of the meeting to erica.brown@barnstable.gov so that they may be displayed at the meeting.
