NOTICE is hereby given by the City of Salisbury that the City Council passed the following Charter Amendment Resolutions on May 26, 2026. The title of the Resolutions, which constitute a fair summary of the amendments to the City Charter, are as follows:
• Charter Amendment Resolution No. 2026-2 - to amend §SC7-25 of the Charter of the City of Salisbury to change the signatures and authorizations requirements for disbursements
• Charter Amendment Resolution No. 2026-3 – to amend Article XXIII of the Charter authorizing collective bargaining by repealing Article XXIII in its entirety and abrogating all collective bargaining rights
The amendments to the City Charter contained in the Resolution will become effective on July 16, 2026 subject to the provisions of Local Government Article § 4-301 et seq. of the Annotated Code of Maryland regarding the right of the qualified voters of the City to petition the proposed amendments to referendum on or before July 6, 2026. The Resolutions shall be posted and available for inspection at least through July 6, 2026, at the Government Office Building, 125 North Division Street, Salisbury, Maryland 21801.
