NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Notice is hereby given that on July 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM, sealed bids will be opened and read in public in the Executive Conference Room (top floor) at Borough Hall, 25 West End Avenue, Somerville NJ 08876 for:
SRTS-2016 SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL ALONG VETERANS MEMORIAL DRIVE EAST
Proposals are being solicited through a fair and open process in accordance with N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.3 et seq., and as such, contractors are exempt from the limitations on making political contributions under that law. Further, for that reason, as well as because of language in New Jersey’s Annual Appropriations Act, refusal to disclose campaign contributions otherwise required by N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.3 et seq. and N.J.S.A. 19:44-20.25 et seq., will not adversely affect your consideration for award.
The scope of the project includes approximately 1,900 linear feet of concrete curb, 1,300 square yards of sidewalk, 11,500 square yards of HMA milling, 1,400 tons of hot mix asphalt surface course, 950 square yards of asphalt/concrete driveway replacement, and installation of a new traffic signal; all in accordance with the form of proposal, contract and specifications prepared by NV5, Inc, 800 Lanidex Plaza, Suite 300, Parsippany, New Jersey.
Bids shall be delivered in sealed envelopes and addressed to Kevin Sluka, Clerk- Administrator, Municipal Office, 25 West End Avenue, Somerville, New Jersey 08876 clearly marked on the outside with the contract name and number, bearing the name and address of the bidder on the outside.
Specifications and drawings may be inspected or obtained by prospective bidders at Somerville Borough 25 West End Avenue, Somerville, New Jersey 08876, during regular business hours. A document fee of $100.00 NON-REFUNDABLE in the form of a check payable to Borough of Somerville, will be required for each set of documents taken out by prospective bidders.
Bidder shall submit with the bid a certified check, cashier’s check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total price bid, but not in excess of $20,000, payable unconditionally to Somerville Borough Treasurer, along with a Certificate (Consent of Surety) with Power of Attorney for full amount of bid price from a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and that said Surety will furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in amounts of 100% of successful bidder’s contract.
Mayor and Borough Council of the Borough of Somerville reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in the proposal received and to accept the bid in which in their judgment will best serve the interest of the Borough.
Bidders shall comply with the requirements of PL 1975, Chapter 127.
