NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DES MOINES, IOWA, ON THE MATTER OF THE PROPOSED AUTHORIZATION OF A LEASE-PURCHASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DES MOINES AND ZIEGLER INC. FOR THE LEASE-PURCHASE OF A TRACTOR WITH BOOM MOWER FOR USE IN CITY OPERATIONS, WITH LEASE PRICE OF $9,000.00 PER MONTH AND A PURCHASE PRICE OF $88,875.00 LESS 100% OF THE RENT PAID, PLUS A CARRYING CHARGE OF THREE PERCENT (3%) OVER PRIME ON THE DECLINING BALANCE, PLUS TAXES AND ALL OTHER COSTS AND EXPENSES ARISING FROM THE SALE OF THE EQUIPMENT. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the 3rd day of August, 2026 at 5:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers, City Administration Building, 1200 Locust Street, Des Moines, Iowa, 50309, at which meeting the City Council proposes to take action for the authorization of a Lease-Purchase Agreement between the City of Des Moines and Ziegler Inc. for a tractor with boom mower for use in City operations by the Public Works Department. The Lease-Purchase Agreement, which will be on file in the Office of the City Clerk at City Administration Building, 1200 Locust Street, Des Moines, Iowa, 50309, at least four days prior to the public hearing, provides that the City shall make lease payments of $9,000.00 per month with a purchase price of $88,875.00 less 100% of the rent paid, plus a carrying charge of three percent (3%) over prime on the declining balance, plus taxes and all other costs and expenses arising from the sale of the equipment. The Lease Agreement will be payable from the Road Use Fund. At the above-described public hearing, the City Council shall receive oral or written objections from any resident or property owner of the City to the above action. After all objections have been received and considered, the City Council will at said meeting or at any adjournment thereof, take additional action for the authorization of said Lease-Purchase Agreement or will abandon the proposal.
