BEFORE THE DIRECTOR
In the matter of Application No. 59-224355.0001, modification of Permit No. 59-224355.0000, for a Permit to Withdraw Groundwater for Mineral Extraction or Metallurgical Processing located within the Lake Pleasant Sub-basin of the Phoenix Active Management Area;
The Director gives notice that Fisher Sand and Gravel Co. (Applicant) has filed the above referenced application for a Permit to Withdraw Groundwater for Mineral Extraction or Metallurgical Processing pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 45, Chapter 2, Article 7, § 45-514. It is the Applicant’s intent to use groundwater under this application for dust control and aggregate production. The Applicant intends to drill one (1) new well and use one (1) existing well located within Section 1 Township 5 North, Range 2 East, and Section 36 Township 6 North, Range 2 East of the Gila Salt River Baseline and Meridian. A total of 350 acre-feet per annum have been requested until March 26, 2035.

Objections to the issuance of the permit may be filed by persons that may be adversely affected by the project and must be filed, in writing, with the Docket Supervisor of the Arizona Department of Water Resources, Legal Division, 1110 West Washington Street, Suite 310, Phoenix, Arizona 85007-2952, or electronically at docketsupervisor@azwater.gov, within fifteen (15) days after the last day of publication of this notice.
For this application, the final date on which an objection may be filed is August 14, 2026. Objections are limited to whether the application meets the criteria of Arizona Revised § 45-514. An objection shall state the name and mailing address of the objector, be signed by the objector, his agent or attorney and must clearly set forth the reasons why the permit should not be issued.
