TWO RIVERS PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION
Regular School Board Minutes, Oct 27, 2025
The meeting was called to order at 5:45 pm by President Klinkner. Present: Wendy Brandt, Jennifer Henrickson, Tim Klinkner, Gary Shavlik, Randy Williams, Lori Zimney. Excused: Zak Peterson. Written notice of this meeting was sent to the news media on Friday, Oct 24, 2025. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Motion by Shavlik, second by Williams to approve the agenda; motion carried 6-0.
Recognition of Invited Guests - Koenig Student Council Advisor - Miranda V. discussed the importance of Student Council and the leadership opportunities it offers. L.B. Clarke Middle School Guiding Coalition - Cay J., Daniel B., and Tim W., presented the academic and character goals for the 2025-26 school year. American Legion Vets - PJ Stephens and Linda Lefky requested volunteers to help with Wreaths Across America by placing wreaths on veterans headstones, and provided information on the American Legion Auxiliary Americanism Essay Contest.
No public comment. Communications: Thank you note.
FINANCIAL STATEMENTS: Motion by Brandt, second by Zimney to approve the Referendum bills to be paid for Oct 2025 in the amount of $3,439.84; motion carried 6-0. Motion by Zimney, second by Shavlik to approve the Financial Statements for August 2025; motion carried 6-0.
BOARD COMMITTEE REPORTS: Finance - Oct 22 meeting - Tax levy discussed.
OLD BUSINESS: None.
NEW BUSINESS: MK Slattery presented the tax levy information. Motion by Williams, second by Henrickson to certify the Tax Levy as presented; motion carried 6-0 on a roll call vote. District board members interested in becoming the WASB Delegate for the 2026 Delegate Assembly at the State Education Convention in Milwaukee please talk to Johnson. Motion by Williams, second by Brandt to accept the following donations: $250 from Grow It Forward Inc. to the School Nutrition: Fresh Fruits & Vegetables for Summer Free Meals fund, and $750 from Matt and Amanda LaTour to the Angel Fund; motion carried 6-0. Other as appropriate: None.
ADMINISTRATOR UPDATE(S): McLinn presented the AGR Report for Koenig Elementary. Koenig has benefited from this Achievement Gap Reduction Grant since 2001 and will continue to do so for the next five years. Korinek shared recorded classroom examples of elementary teachers in action using Bridges, and the positive Act 20 increases. There is much to celebrate! Johnson briefed the board on data from the staff survey. Klinkner discussed that the promotional material will be completed and meetings will be set up with interested parties for the TR Proud Capital Donation Campaign (TRHS athletics complex). Johnson announced the Board listening session (teachers) on Oct. 30th. Other as appropriate: Nov 11-Veterans Day will be held at all schools. The board shared their excitement about "Batty about Books" themed Trunk or Treat at L.B. Clarke Middle School.

Motion by Shavlik, second by Henrickson to adjourn the meeting at 7:22 pm; motion carried.
