Tuesday, November 25, 2025, Common Council Chambers at South Milwaukee City Hall, 2424 15th Avenue, South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mayor Jim Shelenske called the special Common Council meeting to order at 6:00 PM. 8 Alderpersons were present. The meeting was prefaced with the Pledge of Allegiance. Citizen comment period was opened at 6:01 p.m. and closed at 6:01 p.m. MOTION by Bartoshevich/Clark to approve a resolution for adoption of the 2026 operating budget. Motion carried 8-0. MOTION by Bartoshevich/Clark to approve a resolution for levying taxes for the year 2025. Motion carried 8-0. MOTION by Briesemeister/Maass to suspend the rules to allow for giving the first, second, and third readings on ordinances. Motion carried 8-0. MOTION by Briesemeister/Maass to adopt an ordinance to amend Salary Ordinance No. 2271 to fix and establish the amount of salaries, wages, and certain benefits and allowances which shall be paid by the City of South Milwaukee to its supervisory and general employees. Motion carried 8-0. MOTION by Briesemeister/Maass to adopt an ordinance to amend Salary Ordinance No. 2272 to fix and establish the amount of salaries, wages, and certain benefits an allowances which shall be paid by the City of South Milwaukee to its Union employees. Motion carried 8-0. MOTION by Olechowski/Backes to approve a resolution to adopt the 2026 Administrative Fee Schedule, including the following amendment: under Health Department fees, Public Swimming Pools & Water Attractions, complex/w features, the pre-inspection fee shall be $244. Motion carried 8-0. MOTION by Pieper/Clark to discontinue the practice of printing signs for non-city special events starting in 2026. Motion carried 8-0.
