Notice
Notice is hereby given by the Mayor and Borough Council of the Borough of Mont Alto, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, that the Borough Council will consider a proposed ordinance for adoption at the regularly scheduled public meeting of the Council of the Borough of Mont Alto on December 1, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at the Borough Hall in the Borough of Mont Alto. The title of the proposed Ordinance is
"AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF MONT ALTO, FRANKLIN COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, ESTABLISHING A STOP SIGN ON JONES STREET AT THE INTERSECTION OF JONES STREET AND GREENWOOD STREET; THE EASTBOUND AND WESTBOUND TRAFFIC ON JONES STREET AT THE INTERSECTION OF JONES STREET AND CONSTITUTION AVENUE; AND THE NORTHBOUND AND SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC ON CONSTITUTION AVENUE AT THE INTERSECTION OF CONSTITUTION AVENUE AND JONES STREET IN THE BOROUGH OF MONT ALTO".
The summary of the provisions of the proposed ordinance is as follows:
SECTION I. Stope Intersections Established. This section designates certain intersections as official stop intersections. Stop signs must be installed so they face traffic on the first-named street, which is the stop street, as vehicles approach the second-named street, which is the through street. Drivers on the designated stop streets must stop as required by § 3323(b) of the Vehicle Code before entering or crossing the through street. Designated Stop Intersections:
• Jones Street at Greenwood Street - Stop required for eastbound and westbound traffic.
• Jones Street at Constitution Avenue - Stop required for eastbound and westbound traffic.
• Constitution Avenue at Jones Street - Stop required for northbound and southbound traffic.
SECTION II: Repealer.
SECTION III: Saving Clause.
SECTION IV. Severability.
SECTION V. Effective Date. If enacted, the Ordinance shall take effective immediately.
